  • Carseland Weir is home to dozens of these beautiful birds every spring and summer. This was my second visit of the season, but it was the first time that I found any Pelicans. They were initially wary of me, but I sat on the rocks and waited and they eventually floated close enough for me to make some great images...©2009, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com

  • There are White-tailed Jackrabbits all over the place on the prairies and sometimes you can see them every day, while other times you rarely see them. I haven't seen any in a couple of weeks and then all of a sudden this week several juvenile animals appeared. They are clearly this years babies, but I never saw them at all when they really were babies. Too bad...©2009, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com

  • We went for a walk at Carburn Park to look for Chickadees. The birds tend to hang out in the same areas of the park that the White-tailed Deer do, and sure enough we came across lots of Deer during our walk. These Deer are very used to people (many people feed them regularly) and therefore are very curious and hopeful for a handout. I actually had one of them walk right up to me sniff my hands in hopes that I had a tasty treat. Sadly for the deer, I did not. ..©2010, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com
