• When you're driving through the Rocky Mountains, and you see a big yellow sign that says "Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Next 2km", you really have to slow down and look around. Because they really are there. And there might even be lots of them. I found over 40 of them today and managed to make lots of images!..©2010, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com

 • Castle Mountain is in the Rocky Mountains about half way between Banff and Lake Louise. It is a very scenic spot that looks good in all sorts of light and weather conditions. I love to see it when it is being lit up from the side because the shadows in between each of the parapet like peaks falls into deep shadow and makes the mountain look even more rugged than normal. ..We were passing by at just the right time the other day to enjoy the sunrise. It was a particularly beautiful thing when the Alpenglow dropped down the face of the mountain. I love the Rockies!..©2010, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com

 • Every month there is one day, usually on the 2nd day after the full moon, where the moon sets right at sunrise. If you tiem it right, and if it isn't too hazy or cloudy outside, you can see the moon looking huge as it drops down to the horizon. With the sun coming up on the opposite horizonm the moon also glows and glowing a beautiful shade of orange or pink...©2009, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com

Highlights included hiking the Nihahi Ridge Trail, visiting Forget-Me-Not Pond, and barbecuing some great steaks over an open fire.
• The hike to larch valley is always spectactular, especially in the fall when the larches turn a golden yellow. We were about two weeks too late to see the best of the show as many of the trees were already barren of needles. It was cool to see a carpet of golden yellow needles on the ground, and we were there on a beautiful blue sky day. It was a great way to end the hiking season before winter hits!

These Gray Jays (aka Whiskey Jacks) were very curious about all the activity on the trail.
