  • There are Hawks all over the place near the airport in Kelowna.  I was out with my Dad and we were actually following a Red-tailed Hawk that landed on the same power pole as this Roughie.  the Red-tail took off as soon as we approached, but this one didn't seem to mind us too much.   • According to Sibley, dark morphs make up less than 10% of the population of roughies found in the west.  I don't recall ever seeing one before, and I wasn't sure what I was seeing when I found this one.
