  • We pulled into the Sheepeater Cliff picnic area mainly because of the strange name. The area is named after a the Western Shoshone band who were known as Tukuaduka (sheep eaters). The area is known for the interesting columnar rock formations in the cliffs along the river, and also for the jumbled boulders that have fallen from the cliffs that make for a fun place to play!..©2009, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com

  • We went for a hike along the Clear Lake Trail in the Canyon area of Yellowstone. Louise spotted this curious little critter in the woods and so I stopped to watch it for awhile. It was easy to see while it was interested in watching me, but eventually it decided to leave and it easily disappeared into the woods...©2009, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com

  • We went for a walk at Carburn Park to look for Chickadees. The birds tend to hang out in the same areas of the park that the White-tailed Deer do, and sure enough we came across lots of Deer during our walk. These Deer are very used to people (many people feed them regularly) and therefore are very curious and hopeful for a handout. I actually had one of them walk right up to me sniff my hands in hopes that I had a tasty treat. Sadly for the deer, I did not. ..©2010, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com

  • I love Carburn Park and I'm always amazed by the things you can see there. Grebes are actually quite common there at certain times of year, but it's surprisingly difficult to get one to pose for a picture while the light is good enough to make something decent out of it. I went back several times after I found this one as it was quite obliging!..©2009, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com
