• Images from a trip to Red Rock Coulee in Southwestern Alberta.

The area is home to hundreds of "spherical concretions", which are huge red rocks that have eroded much more slowly than the surrounding soil. They are similar to hoodoos, which are more commonly found in the badlands of central Alberta.

Red Rock Coulee is one of those extremely interesting places that is unlike anywhere else that you'll ever visit.
• The most beautiful hike that you've never heard of! The terrain and features of the lake itself are very similar to Chester Lake (a few km down the highway), but the actual hike up to the lake is much much nicer than the hike to Chester.

This is a relatively unknown trail with an unmarked trailhead and as such you won't share it with very many people (as opposed to the hundreds that visit Chester every day in the summer). Be sure to take the extra step of climbing up into Rummel Pass as it is also extremely beautiful and makes the overall trip that much better!
