• Images from a trip to Red Rock Coulee in Southwestern Alberta.

The area is home to hundreds of "spherical concretions", which are huge red rocks that have eroded much more slowly than the surrounding soil. They are similar to hoodoos, which are more commonly found in the badlands of central Alberta.

Red Rock Coulee is one of those extremely interesting places that is unlike anywhere else that you'll ever visit.
• While hiking to Lake Helen and Cirque Peak in Banff National Park we came across dozens of these interesting critters. They are very large ground squirrels that are not even remotely shy. We were able to approach very closely before they even bothered to look up. they are very fat, and very cute!
We came across this cute little furry critter and had an exciting game of hide and seek with it for about 10 minutes. The Weasel kept runnin off into the rocks, and then creeping back to investigate me. It was lots of fun!..©2010, Sean Phillips.http://www.RiverwoodPhotography.com

 • I have been trying to find a meadowlark all through the spring a couple of weeks without much success. I've seen a couple, but never managed to make any great images. I was very excited to find this one happily singing away on a fencepost. Their song is even more beautiful than the bird!
• I have been trying to find a meadowlark all through the spring a couple of weeks without much success. I've seen a couple, but never managed to make any great images. I was very excited to find this one happily singing away on a fencepost. Their song is even more beautiful than the bird!
• I had a really fun session with a family friend, and her violin! Danielle is a real sweetheart and she loves to play the violin. Her mom told me that she was really excited when she found out that she was going to get some portraits made while she played her instrument, which really got me even more interested in the shoot. I was amazed by how good she is and I really enjoyed hearing her play during our session. It made the session go by very quickly!
• Castle Mountain is in the Rocky Mountains about half way between Banff and Lake Louise. It is a very scenic spot that looks good in all sorts of light and weather conditions. I love to see it when it is being lit up from the side because the shadows in between each of the parapet like peaks falls into deep shadow and makes the mountain look even more rugged than normal. ..We were passing by at just the right time the other day to enjoy the sunrise. It was a particularly beautiful thing when the Alpenglow dropped down the face of the mountain. I love the Rockies!..©2010, Sean Phillips.http://www.Sean-Phillips.com

 • I've created many images of these falls over the years. I just can't keep away and I get the urge to go back there every time we go to the cottage. There are so many different ways to make images at the falls that I really don't even have two similar images. I reall love the soft light that wraps around the area at sunset and this is one of my favorite places to photograph...©2010, Sean Phillips.http://www.RiverwoodPhotography.com

 • We went hiking up to Rawson Lake in Kananaskis Provincial Park. It's a beautiful hike to an even more beautiful lake!
